Overview
Change a custom role, or clone any role. System roles cannot be edited, but can be cloned.
Pre-requisites
- You are a super administrator.
- The role exists.
Permissions
Only a super administrator can edit or clone roles.
Steps
1. Open Roles
From Admin, select RBAC, then Roles. System roles show a System badge and lock icon.
2. Open the menu
Use the role card menu. A custom role offers Edit and Clone; a system role offers only Clone.
3. Edit a custom role
Select Edit, change its name, description, contexts, or permissions, then select Update Role.
4. Clone a role
Select Clone. Care copies its contexts and permissions and names it “{original name} (Copy)”. Change the new role as needed, then select Create Role.
Expected Outcome
Care updates the custom role or creates a separate editable clone. The original role remains unchanged.
