Overview

This flow describes how to delete a department from a facility in Care.

Pre-requisites

• The department is set up in the facility.
• The department has no sub-departments. If the department has sub-departments, delete them first.
• The department has no members other than you.
• The department is not linked to any encounter, location, or device.
• The department is not the facility's root department ("Administration"). Care does not let you delete the root department.
• You have the permission listed below.

Permissions

Can Delete Facility Organizations	Lets you delete a department. Held by Facility Admin.

Steps

1. Open the department list

Open the facility. Select Settings. Select Departments.

2. Start the deletion

Find the department you want to delete. Select the delete action (a trash icon).

📝 Note

Care shows this action only when the department has no sub-departments.

3. Confirm the deletion

Care opens a confirmation dialog. Select Remove.

Expected Outcome

• Care deletes the department.
• The department no longer appears in the list.
